Trump believes there is no need to extend the July 9 tariff limit. US Treasury Secretary admitted that it may be difficult to complete all negotiations

Internet reports that U.S. President Trump said he believes that there is no need to extend the July 9 trade deadline. Countries need to reach an agreement with the United States before this deadline to avoid being imposed on higher tariffs. "I don't think an extension is needed," he said in an interview with Fox News. He then added: "I can extend it too, it's no big deal." Previously, Trump said on Friday that the government could do whatever it wants with the deadline, including extending or shortening it. On Friday, U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessant said: "Countries have put forward very good deals to us, but it may not be possible to complete all negotiations before Trump's April 2 country-specific tariffs are about to resume." If we can reach agreements with 10 to 12 of our 18 important trading partners-and 20 other important trading relationships-then I think we can complete all trade negotiations by Labor Day (September 1)."
