Agency: Non-agricultural data, whether good or bad, can be a reason for Trump to urge interest rates
According to online reports, financial news service provider Newsquawk said that it expects non-farm payrolls in the United States to increase by 129,000 in June, the unemployment rate is expected to remain unchanged at 4.2%, and the average hourly monthly wage rate is expected to fall from 0.4% to 0.3%. The average weekly working hours are expected to remain unchanged at 34.3 hours. Powell has said the labor market remains solid, but admitted that there has been a "very slow and sustained cooling" that is not cause for concern, and pointed to strong job creation and labor force participation rates as signs of continued economic recovery. This argument was also echoed by other officials. Still, any "not-so-bad" employment data could be seized by Trump as a reason why the Fed should cut interest rates; but any unexpected downturn in labor data could also be used by Trump as a reason why the Fed should cut interest rates.
