Musician Jonathan Mann made a profit of $3 million through NFT sales, but lost everything due to taxes and a market crash."
Musician Jonathan Mann recently revealed that he made about $3 million (collected as ETH) in January 2022 by selling 3700 songs NFT. However, after the market crash, almost all of this gain was lost due to cryptocurrency depreciation and tax problems. Mann said the IRS required it to pay income tax at the value of ETH when sold, with tax bills as high as $1,095,171.79. In response to the liquidity crisis, he pledged ETH to borrow through Aave, only to be liquidated in the market turmoil caused by the Terra ecological crash, losing 300 ETH. He eventually earned $1.1 million by selling his early holdings of Autoglyph NFT to pay taxes. At present, Mann still insists on writing and selling songs NFT daily, but has not yet returned to its previous revenue level.
