Musk's xAI company apologizes for trouble caused by chat robots
Online reported that on the 12th local time, xAI, an artificial intelligence company owned by American entrepreneur Elon Musk, apologized for its chat robot Grok's praise of Hitler and other remarks, and explained that the incident was caused by the misuse of a piece of obsolete code after the system update. The relevant code has now been removed. "We deeply apologize for the horrific behavior (Grok's) that many people have experienced," xAI wrote on its official social media account. According to the New York Times, on July 8, Grok referred to content posted by users of the social media platform X, which Musk controls, to generate a series of "anti-Semitic" remarks, including praising Nazi German leader Hitler; people claiming Jewish surnames making it easier to spread hate speech online; responding to hate speech against white people with remarks related to the Nazi mass murder of Jews during World War II was "effective", and so on.
