Analysis: The impact of tariffs may appear, and U.S. inflation data is expected to accelerate in June
Internet reports that some analysts said that after several months of low inflation, the price increase experienced by U.S. consumers may accelerate slightly in June, as companies began to pass on the increase in the cost of imported goods related to tariffs to consumers. An agency survey of economists showed that prices of goods and services, excluding volatile food and energy costs, were expected to rise 0.3% in June, the largest increase in five months. Core CPI rose slightly by only 0.1% in May. Although next Tuesday's report may only show a slight pass on to consumers of the cost of U.S. import tariffs, many economists expect inflation to gradually pick up over time. At the same time, many businesses are hesitant to raise prices. After the job market cools, American consumers have paid more attention to consumption restraint, forming a delicate balance. (Jin Shi)
