Li Auto Jul deliveries breakdown: EREVs all decline, Mega continues to rise

Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) saw a decline in July deliveries primarily due to weaker performance from its L-series extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs), while the Li Mega MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) continued to grow.

All L-series models -- Li L6, Li L7, Li L8, and Li L9 -- saw significant year-on-year declines in July, while the all-electric Li Mega refreshed its second-highest monthly sales, according to data compiled by CnEVPost from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

Li L6 delivered 14,830 vehicles in July, making it the best-selling Li Auto model. The SUV's monthly sales decreased by 40.34 percent year-on-year and down 9.96 percent from June.

The Li L6 is Li Auto's most affordable model, with a starting price of RMB 249,800 ($34,790), contributing 48.26 percent of Li Auto's July deliveries.

In the first seven months of the year, the Li L6 delivered 111,184 vehicles, accounting for 47.38 percent of Li Auto's total deliveries of 234,669 during the same period.

Data released by the company on August 1 showed that it delivered 30,731 vehicles in July, a year-on-year decrease of 39.74 percent and a month-on-month decrease of 15.29 percent.

Li L7 delivered 6,237 vehicles in July, down 45.30 percent year-on-year and down 24.61 percent from June. The model accounted for 20.30 percent of Li Auto's deliveries in July.

In the first seven months of the year, Li L7 delivered 53,611 vehicles, down 28.43 percent year-on-year, contributing 22.85 percent of Li Auto's deliveries during the same period.

Li L8 delivered 3,088 units in July, down 53.16 percent year-on-year and down 28.82 percent month-on-month. The model accounted for 10.05 percent of Li Auto's monthly deliveries.

In the first seven months of the year, Li L8 delivered 30,856 units, down 29.25 percent year-on-year, accounting for 13.15 percent of Li Auto's deliveries during the same period.

Li L9 delivered 3,760 units in July, down 49.83 percent year-on-year and down 23.16 percent from June. The model accounted for 12.24 percent of Li Auto's monthly deliveries.

In the first seven months of the year, Li L9 delivered 30,398 units, down 40.59 percent year-on-year, accounting for 12.95 percent of Li Auto's deliveries during the same period.

Li Mega delivered 2,816 units in July, marking the second-highest monthly delivery volume in its history, accounting for 9.16 percent of Li Auto's monthly deliveries. This represents a year-on-year increase of 330.58 percent and a month-on-month increase of 22.22 percent.

In January-July, Li Mega delivered 8,621 units, contributing 3.67 percent of Li Auto's deliveries during the same period.

Li Auto launched the updated Li Mega on April 23 and the updated L series EREVs on May 8.

Deliveries of the updated L series began on May 9, and deliveries of the updated Li Mega began on May 23.

On June 3, Li Auto said that based on order status, it was expecting stable deliveries of the Li Mega to reach 2,500-3,000 units per month.

The Li Mega is Li Auto's most expensive model, with a starting price of RMB 529,800.

Li Auto launched the Li i8, its first pure electric SUV, on July 29, with deliveries set to begin on August 20.
