The Bank of England is expected to cut interest rates by 25 basis points on Thursday, assessing the impact of Trump tariffs for the first time."

The Bank of England will announce its interest rate decision at 19:02 Beijing time on Thursday, and the market is generally expected to cut interest rates by 25 basis points to 4.25%. A Bloomberg survey showed that 32 economists all expect this rate cut. Affected by Trump's tariff policy, the central bank may for the first time comprehensively assess its impact on the economy and may hint at further interest rate cuts in June. Traders expect the Bank of England to cut interest rates by a cumulative 100 basis points to 3.5% during the year. If interest rates are cut this time, it will be the first time that the Bank of England has cut interest rates in a row since 2009. (Jin Shi)
