Kenyan Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo speaks out in support of the KDT project at X
On July 13, it was reported that William Kabogo, Minister of Information and Communication Technology of Kenya, announced the official launch of the national digital token KenyaNDT (KDT). The token was deployed on the Solana blockchain and became the first national-level digital asset in sub-Saharan Africa. Kabogo said that Kenya is formulating a draft national virtual asset policy and virtual asset service providers (VASP) bill to build a more standardized digital asset regulatory framework. He also disclosed that Kenyan citizens currently have more than US$500 million per month in digital asset transactions, reflecting the high degree of public participation in this field.
