Amazon announced on Wednesday that it will invest $10 billion to build a new data center in North Carolina as part of its efforts to expand artificial intelligence and cloud computing infrastructure, the Internet reported. The company said in a statement that it expects the investment to consolidate new compute-intensive workloads and help expand Amazon's ability to support businesses built using artificial intelligence. "Amazon's investment is one of the largest in the history of the state and will bring hundreds of high-paying jobs and economic development to Richmond County," North Carolina Gov. Josh Stein said.
