SoftBank Group approves $22.5 billion investment in OpenAI

Internet reports that SoftBank Group approved an investment of US$22.5 billion in OpenAI on the 25th. Previously, SoftBank invested US$10 billion in OpenAI for the first time in April this year. The relevant funds were mainly used to support OpenAI's R & D expenditure and commercialization process, cover hardware research and development, model training and other aspects. OpenAI is moving forward with its $40 billion super funding plan to get ready for an eventual public offering. Softbank is the main investor, taking on 75% of the round of financing. While receiving large investments, OpenAI is actively deploying AI music. It is reported that OpenAI is working with an American conservatory of music to carry out key work on score data to provide high-quality data for the training of new models. Although OpenAI has launched a music generation model, due to technical and computing cost constraints, there is still a certain gap between its generation of music and human works. At the same time, using risky AI to generate music may also constitute a law. It is understood that OpenAI's generation method has covered multiple fields based on artificial intelligence technology, including text and dialogue, image generation, video generation, etc. Recently, OpenAI has also launched an artificial intelligence browser that deeply integrates ChatGPT into the entire process.
