Guizhou Duyun Public Security Bureau explores a new model for storing virtual currency involved in the case, using cold wallets to physically isolate storage
According to online reports, according to China News Network, the Public Security Bureau of Duyun City, Guizhou Province has explored new practical models in handling the preservation of virtual currency involved in the case. Since China strictly banned virtual currency transactions in 2021, local public security agencies have faced technical difficulties in storing and disposing of virtual currencies involved in the case. During the handling of the case, Duyun Public Security Bureau found that some suspects had converted illegally obtained stolen money into virtual currency. In response to such situations, the local public security agency used cold wallet technology to physically isolate and store the seized virtual currency involved in the case, and uniformly stored it in the Duyun City Property Management Center involved in the case, waiting for the court's final judgment.
