Binance founder Zhao Changpeng confirmed application for Trump pardon "

According to online reports, according to Cointelegraph, Binance founder Zhao Changpeng (CZ) confirmed in the latest podcast that his legal team had submitted an amnesty application on his behalf to former U.S. President Trump. Previously, Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal reported that CZ was seeking amnesty, but it denied it at the time. CZ said the request for amnesty was inspired in part by Trump's previous pardon of BitMEX founders. In November last year, Zhao Changpeng pleaded guilty to violating the Bank Secrecy Act, paid a $50 million fine and was sentenced to four months in prison. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, even if an amnesty is obtained, it will not eliminate his money laundering charges, but may allow him to return to a management position at Binance.US.
