Trump sent a letter as early as Friday informing trading partners of unilateral tariff rates "

According to Internet reports, Trump said that the United States may start sending letters to trading partners unilaterally setting tariff rates as early as Friday (4th local time), and July 9 is the deadline for negotiations. Trump said on Thursday local time: "We may start sending some letters, starting around tomorrow, maybe 10 letters a day to different countries telling them the tariffs they need to pay to trade with the United States." Trump said on Tuesday that he would not consider postponing next week's deadline. When asked about the possibility of extending the negotiations, U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessant said earlier on Thursday that Trump would make the final decision.
