Online reported that artificial intelligence giant OpenAI confirmed on Tuesday that it would restructure its executive team, create a new application chief technology officer position, and acquire product analysis company Statsig for US$1.1 billion. The acquired Statsig company specializes in product optimization services such as A/B testing. Its founder and CEO Vijaye Raji will join OpenAI as the chief technology officer of applications, reporting directly to the CEO of the application business Fidji Simo. Seamus joined OpenAI after resigning as CEO of fresh food distribution platform Instacart on August 18. "After the transaction is completed, Statsig employees will be integrated into the OpenAI team, and the company will continue to operate independently and provide services to existing customers from its Seattle headquarters," OpenAI said in the announcement.
