US SEC Chairman Paul Atkins: The focus of today's meeting is on amending existing rules or developing a new crypto broker framework
According to online reports, Paul Atkins, the new chairman of the US SEC, said at the third crypto roundtable: "Today's roundtable discussion focused on the challenges faced by SEC registrants when trying to securely custody crypto assets for their clients in accordance with federal security laws, modifying custody rules under the Securities Exchange Act, Investment Advisers Act, or Investment Company Act to adapt to the fact that crypto assets are a special brokerage business, is the so-called system feasible for market participants, or is a new crypto asset broker-dealer framework needed?"
