US-Japan trade talks make progress and are expected to reach an agreement as early as June
Internet reports that Japan's chief trade negotiator Ryoshasa Akasawa said that the latest round of tariff negotiations with the Trump administration has made progress and an agreement is expected to be reached early next month, but he did not disclose specific details. After meeting with U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessant and Commerce Secretary Lutnik in Washington on Friday, Ryoshima Akasawa said the two sides would meet again before the G7 summit from June 15 to 17.
