Tom Brady, Larry David and other celebrities are basically exonerated in FTX lawsuits."
On Thursday, a judge rejected most, but not all, of the appeals against well-known celebrities charged for promoting the bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX, the Internet reported. U.S. District Judge K. Michael Moore said in an opinion filed Wednesday that the FTX investors who took legal action against the celebrities had failed to prove that the stars knew that the cryptocurrency exchange relied on fraud to operate. Celebrities indicted include sports stars Tom Brady, Stephen Curry and Naomi Osaka, Golden State Warriors basketball team, comedian Larry David and "Smart Winner" judge Kevin O'Leary. "Although this behavior suggests that the defendants were unaware, negligent or even reckless, it does not suggest that the defendants were aware of FTX's fraud, nor does it suggest that they had the necessary intention to defraud or defraud investors," the judge said of the celebrities.
