Zeekr (NYSE: ZK) has filed for its flagship hybrid SUV (sport utility vehicle) model, the Zeekr 9X, as its launch approaches.

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) today released the latest list of vehicle models set to be approved for sale, with public comments solicited, and Zeekr's first hybrid model, the Zeekr 9X, is included.

The public may submit feedback from August 9 to 15. Inclusion in this list is the final major regulatory step before a vehicle model can be sold in China.

The Zeekr 9X is listed in the directory with four pages, with product model numbers MR6521DCHEV101, MR6521DCHEV106, MR6521DCHEV102, and MR6521DCHEV100.

All models are plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) equipped with an engine with a displacement of 1,974 ml and a maximum power output of 205 kW.

The 6-seat SUV has dimensions of 5,239 mm in length, 2,019 mm in width, and 1,819 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,169 mm.

The Zeekr 9X has a curb weight of 2,840 to 3,095 kilograms and supports a maximum speed of 240 kilometers per hour.

It uses ternary lithium batteries supplied by a joint venture between CATL (SHE: 300750) and Geely.

Zeekr debuted the Zeekr 9X on the first day of the 2025 Shanghai auto show on April 23, saying that the SUV would be equipped with CATL's Freevoy Battery.

The battery pack has a capacity of up to 70 kWh, providing a range of over 380 kilometers.

The Zeekr 9X would begin pre-sales at the Chengdu auto show in late August, Zeekr announced on July 9, without mentioning pricing information.

A Zeekr spokesperson told CnEVPost on June 17 that the Zeekr 9X would officially launch in the third quarter, with an estimated starting price of about RMB 600,000 ($83,560).
