NVIDIA will launch an AI chip based on the Blackwell architecture for the China market

According to online reports, according to Reuters news quoted on the website of Singapore's Lianhe Zaobao on May 25, American chip giant Nvidia will reportedly launch an artificial intelligence (AI) chip based on the Blackwell architecture for the China market. The price will be significantly lower than the previous H20 chip. Mass production is expected to begin as soon as June. According to reports, this AI processor using the latest generation Blackwell architecture is expected to sell for between US$6500 and US$8000, which is significantly lower than the H20 pricing. Lower selling prices usually mean that chip specifications are relatively weak and manufacturing processes are more simplified. Reported that this will be the third time that Nvidia has launched a downgraded version of chips for the China market that meets U.S. regulatory requirements. The U.S. government recently banned Nvidia from selling H20 chips based on the Hopper architecture to China. People familiar with the matter said that Nvidia had considered developing a downgraded version of the H20 for the China market, but Nvidia CEO Huang Renxun previously admitted that the Hopper architecture used by the H20 could no longer be modified under current U.S. export restrictions.
