US Air Force suspends SpaceX rocket program in Pacific atolls "
Internet reports that on July 4 local time, the U.S. Air Force has suspended SpaceX's plan to test hypersonic rocket cargo from the Pacific atolls. A spokesman for the U.S. Air Force said the Air Force is exploring other locations for the project. It is understood that the project will test a reusable rocket landing vehicle that can transport up to 100 tons of cargo to anywhere on earth in approximately 90 minutes. Previously, biologists and experts said the project would endanger many seabirds nesting in the Johnston Atoll Wildlife Refuge. The U.S. Air Force had said it would conduct an environmental assessment of the project, but the release of the draft assessment was delayed due to opposition from environmental groups.
