Richmond Fed President: Fed policymakers don't always keep pace with chairman

According to online reports, Tom Barkin, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, said he believes the next Fed chairman will pursue the monetary policy that is most beneficial to the economy, but he also pointed out that the Fed's committee responsible for setting interest rates does not always keep pace with the chairman. "I hope and believe that person will work to develop the best policies for the country," Barkin said at an event in Baltimore on Tuesday.
