Xpeng delivers 37,709 cars in Aug, record high for 2nd consecutive month

Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) achieved a new delivery record last month as its sales momentum continued amid a robust product cycle.
The Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker delivered 37,709 vehicles in August, marking its second consecutive month of record-breaking performance, according to a Hong Kong Stock Exchange filing today.
This represents a 168.66 percent increase from 14,036 units delivered in the same month last year and a 2.70 percent rise from July's 36,717 deliveries.
In September, Xpeng's monthly deliveries will exceed the 40,000-unit mark, the company's chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng said on Weibo.
The Mona M03 electric sedan delivered over 15,000 units in August, pushing total deliveries past 160,000 units, the company said in a WeChat post.
Launched on August 27, 2024, the Mona M03 currently offers six variants with starting prices ranging from RMB 119,800 ($16,800) to RMB 139,800.
From January to August, Xpeng delivered 271,615 vehicles, a 251.79 percent year-on-year increase.
Cumulative deliveries since the company's founding reached 861,994 vehicles as of the end of August, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
The company aims for deliveries in 2025 to double from 2024's 190,068 to about 380,000 units. It now appears this target will be easily achievable if current delivery levels are maintained.
This robust delivery performance stems from a strong product cycle this year.
Xpeng launched the next-generation P7 on August 27, featuring a comprehensive exterior and interior overhaul of the electric sedan, with nationwide deliveries commencing on August 28.
On July 3, Xpeng rolled out the G7 SUV (sport utility vehicle), its first model equipped with the in-house developed Turing AI driving chip.
Beyond these two models, the company launched updated G6 and G9 SUVs in March, the refreshed X9 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) in April, and the Max variant of the Mona M03 in May.
