Trump's Meme coin dinner sparks protests, Democratic lawmakers call it "crypto corruption" and propose to block it
Internet reports that while President Trump hosted a dinner party for his main investors in Meme coins,"at least three events initiated by congressional Democrats" took place on the 22nd, accusing him of participating in the encryption project of "constituting corruption." Rep. Maxine Waters accused him of "shamelessly using White House power to promote and profit from a series of crypto projects related to him and his family," and announced that he would introduce a new bill to "completely block Trump's Meme coins and end his crypto corruption," which would ban the president, vice president, members of Congress and their families from "engaging in similar crypto crimes." Protesters will also gather that night outside the Trump National Golf Club, where the president hosts Meme investors. Organizers of the "America Is Not For Sale" rally called it a "blatant act of selling political influence to the highest bidder."
