Internet reports that last month, the number of monthly active users of NFT trading platform OpenSea reached its highest level since mid-2023. According to Dune Analytics, 467,322 users on the platform made at least one transaction in May, a figure similar to the level from mid-2022 to early 2023. The number of active users in June may be the same or even higher than in May, with the number currently reaching 236,091. Although OpenSea's user interest has rebounded, the monthly trading volume of the NFT platform is still well below the level before the NFT market downturn in 2021 and early 2022. Although trading volume last month was US$81 million, January 2022 hit a monthly trading volume peak of more than US$5 billion. The surge in the number of active users may be attributed to the official launch of OS2 on May 29 and user expectations for potential rewards. This beta is only open to Gemesis NFT holders (the 94,757 NFT collectibles created by OpenSea in April 2023) and focuses on testing new features.
