US SEC launches process to review Bitwise Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF listing applications
According to online reports, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced on June 10, 2025 that it would initiate procedures to review the listing applications of Bitwise Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs submitted by the NYSE Arca Exchange. The ETF plans to hold both Bitcoin and Ethereum, and asset allocation will be based on the relative market capitalizations of the two cryptocurrencies (currently approximately 83% Bitcoin and 17% Ethereum). Bitwise Investment Advisers, LLC, as the initiator of the trust, and Coinbase Custody Trust Company will be responsible for custody of crypto assets. The ETF will determine daily net asset values by referencing CME CF Bitcoin and Ethereum pricing benchmarks and allow authorized participants to make cash purchases and redemptions in units of 10,000 shares.
