Manus development team completed US$75 million in financing at a valuation of nearly US$500 million, with Benchmark leading the investment
Online reported that Bloomberg quoted people familiar with the matter as saying on Friday that the China startup behind Manus AI raised US$75 million in a round of financing led by US venture capital firm Benchmark. According to reports, the round also included participation from existing investors, increasing the startup's valuation fivefold to nearly $500 million. Reported that the company, called the Butterfly Effect, plans to use the funds to expand markets such as the United States, Japan and the Middle East. Manus released a universal AI agent in March this year that can handle tasks such as resume screening, travel planning and stock analysis, which has attracted widespread attention. The company claims that the agent outperforms OpenAI's recently launched Deep Research tool on multiple indicators. Manus had previously raised more than $10 million from investors such as Tencent, Zhenge Fund and HSG, Bloomberg reported, citing China media.
