Analysts: The Federal Reserve may restart interest rate cut cycle in September

According to online reports, analysts at Swiss Bank Baosheng wrote in a report that the Federal Reserve may restart the interest rate cut cycle at the September FOMC meeting. They said the weakening economic outlook means the Fed will implement looser monetary policy in the second half of the year. They added that uncertainty surrounding inflation after the tariff increase and political pressure from President Trump to cut rates have hindered interest rates this month. After July, they said, stagnant private consumption and reduced investment plans, indicating weakening demand, would justify a less restrictive policy stance despite inflation above target.
