Brazil's financial system suffers cyber attack and Brazil's central bank urgently intervenes in investigation "
Internet reports that on July 2, local time, at least six financial institutions in Brazil suffered cyber attacks. Hackers used system vulnerabilities of third-party payment service providers to initiate large-scale illegal transfers. At present, the Central Bank of Brazil has not announced the specific amount involved and the list of affected financial institutions. An investigation by the Brazilian Central Bank showed that the entrance to the attack was not the bank's own system, but its authorized payment service provider C&MSoftware. Currently, the Brazilian Federal Police and the São Paulo State Police have been involved in the investigation. The Central Bank of Brazil has urgently interrupted the service provider's system interface and required relevant institutions to suspend transfer operations initiated by the service provider. At the same time, it has ordered financial institutions to comprehensively check the qualifications of third-party service providers.
