Internet reports that Itaú Asset Management, Brazil's largest private asset manager, has established a dedicated cryptocurrency department and appointed former Hashdex executive João Marco Bragada Cunha to lead the department. The unit is based on Itaú Asset's existing cryptocurrency products, including the bank's Bitcoin ETF and pension funds that provide digital asset investment. Itaú Asset manages more than 1 trillion reais (US$185 billion) in assets for clients.
