Fidji Simo, Instacart's outgoing CEO, will join OpenAI, and before officially joining next month, she outlined the vision for OpenAI's newly created application CEO position. "We must consciously build and share these technologies so that they can bring more opportunities and prosperity to more people," she wrote. OpenAI announced in early May that Simo, 39, would take over the operational responsibilities currently held by CEO Sam Ultraman, including finance and product development. The company said at the time that it would allow Ultraman to focus on a broader strategy.
