Apple's New iPad Shows Up
Apple unveiled the next-generation iPad lineup - the upgraded iPad Pro and iPad Air - at its event.
On May 7, Apple Inc. (AAPL) unveiled the new generation of iPad series at a press conference - upgraded versions of iPad Pro and iPad Air.
It is understood that the iPad Pro comes in two sizes, 11 inches and 13 inches, priced at $999 and $1,299 respectively. Both models are equipped with Apple's M4 chip and more vibrant OLED displays, expected to boost sales.
In addition, the iPad Pro is also equipped with an Ultra Retina XDR display, which is Apple's most advanced OLED technology, named Tandem OLED panel.
On the other hand, the iPad Air adds a 13-inch screen option. The new Air now features Apple's M2 chip, which is 50% faster than the previous iPad Air with the M1 chip, with prices ranging from $599 to $799.
At the event, Apple also showcased the Apple Pencil Pro with new haptic feedback functionality, as well as an updated Magic Keyboard protective cover for the iPad Pro series.
Apple emphasized its ambition in artificial intelligence technology, with the new M4 chip containing a 16-core neural engine, more powerful than any neural processing unit in the PC market. While Apple's iPad sales have declined in recent years, the launch of these new products could potentially lead to a significant increase in sales volume.
