Minna Bank, Japan's first pure digital bank and a subsidiary of Fukuoka Financial Group, announced on Thursday that it is exploring the use of stablecoins and digital wallets to support the country's daily financial services and payments, the Internet reported. The program is part of a joint research with Fireblocks, Solana Japan and Japanese technology company TIS to evaluate the practical use of stablecoins and decentralized wallets in real-world banking. The study will examine use cases including cross-border payments, real-world asset transactions and daily digital payments.
