Internet reports that Eigen Labs laid off 29 employees as it reoriented its EigenCloud product. Launched last month, the product is a developer platform focusing on offline and online verification. As part of the announcement at the time, A16Z announced a $70 million investment. The company has raised a total of US$220 million, including US$50 million in its 2023 Series A financing. A spokesperson for Eigen Labs said the decision to lay off workers, which affects 25% of employees, was not based on financial considerations and that there was still financial room for the project.
