Tesla suspends production of humanoid robots and modifies design "

According to online reports, information from China's supply chain shows that Tesla is focusing on adjusting the software and hardware technical details of the humanoid robot Optimus, and began suspending the purchase of Optimus parts half a month ago. Two supplier sources said Tesla did not make it clear that it would reduce orders for robot parts, but it would not determine a new mass production plan and restart procurement until Optimus design adjustments are completed, which may take up to two months. Musk recently said on social media that the performance of the new version of Optimus is significantly improved compared to Tesla's second-generation Optimus unveiled in 2023, and it adds voice interaction features supported by Grok. It is reported that as of the end of May this year, Tesla has purchased enough parts to produce 1200 Optimus units this year and produced nearly 1000 units.
