Australian federal police seized assets related to cryptocurrency hacking, worth approximately $2.9 million
Online reports, according to Cointelegraph, the Australia Federal Police (AFP) recently seized a number of assets of a Queensland man, including nearly 25 bitcoins, a waterfront mansion and a Mercedes-Benz car, with a total value of approximately US$2.9 million. AFP said the assets may be related to the theft of 950 bitcoins from a French cryptocurrency exchange in 2013. The man had previously been convicted of cybercrimes such as selling League of Legends player data. Although no criminal charges have been filed in the Bitcoin theft case this time, the court has ordered the confiscation of relevant assets and the proceeds will be used for crime prevention and law enforcement measures.
