Vitalik proposes a new type of\partially stateless nodes\solution optimization and expansion roadmap

According to online reports, Vitalik Buterin released a proposal to adjust the Ethereum expansion roadmap on May 19, focusing on the concept of "partially stateless nodes", aiming to balance the contradiction between network expansion and node decentralization. This scheme allows users to run nodes that store only partial state data while maintaining local access that is trust-free, censor-resistant and privacy-friendly. The proposal also prioritizes the full deployment of EIP-4444, shortening the node data storage period to approximately 36 days, and significantly reducing disk space requirements. At the same time, it is recommended to build a distributed historical storage solution and adjust the gas pricing mechanism to increase storage costs and reduce execution costs. This adjustment is expected to ensure the feasibility of individual node operations and maintain the decentralized characteristics of the Ethereum network even if the L1 gas limit is increased by 10-100 times.
