Trump's "grand tax cut bill" announced: proposed tax cuts of 4 trillion yuan over ten years without mentioning millionaire tax proposal
Internet reported that the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee released the tax bill ahead of a scheduled panel debate on Tuesday, signaling that the Republican-controlled house is pushing for a full house vote on the legislation this month. The bill plans to cut taxes by more than $4 trillion over the next decade and cut spending by at least $1.5 trillion. The bill would increase the U.S. debt ceiling by $4 trillion, less than the $5 trillion the Senate wants. The legislative package, which Trump calls "a grand and remarkable bill," is the core of his ruling agenda. The bill extends many of Trump's first tax cuts that expire at the end of this year. It included some of Trump's key campaign promises but did not mention his proposal to tax millionaires by rank. According to the draft text, personal income tax on tips and overtime income will be exempted until 2028. One of the most thorny issues, including a controversial standoff over increasing state and local tax deductions, remains unresolved. The draft plans to increase the upper limit of state and local tax deductions for joint declarations by couples from $10,000 to $30,000, but set a threshold of $200,000 per person's annual income or twice that for joint claimants. However, some lawmakers from high-tax areas advocate larger tax breaks.
