U.S. judge rejects class-action lawsuit against Caitlyn Jenner and partner Sophia Hutchins
Online reported that California federal judge Stanley Blumenfeld Jr. dismissed a class action lawsuit against Caitlyn Jenner and partner Sophia Hutchins. The plaintiff, British investor Lee Greenfield, claimed to have lost more than US$40,000 between May and July 2024 due to his holding of Meme coins issued by Jenner, and charged the defendant with nine counts including violating securities laws. The judge held that the plaintiff had not provided sufficient evidence to prove that the token transaction was governed by U.S. law, and gave him the opportunity to supplement the evidence until May 23. Greenfield accused Jenner's team of first issuing JENNER tokens in Solana, and two days later launching the same name token on Ethereum, causing the former to depreciate. During this period, it also promoted another dog-themed token, BBARK. Jenner can profit by charging a 3% transaction fee for the Ethereum version. Jenner was previously involved in the memecoin controversy run by Sahil Arora.
