BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao will officially launch and deliver the Tai 7 SUV (sport utility vehicle) -- the second model in its Tai series, in September.

The brand's head, Xiong Tianbo, mentioned the plan in a Q&A session on Weibo yesterday, stating that the first batch of show cars of the hybrid SUV is expected to become available at Fang Cheng Bao stores by the end of August.

The first production model of the Tai 7 rolled off the assembly line on August 11, gearing up for its fourth-quarter launch.

The vehicle's dimensions are 4,999 mm in length, 1,995 mm in width, and 1,865 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm, according to previously disclosed information.

The model boasts the largest interior space among Fang Cheng Bao's current product lineup and will focus more on urban driving needs, the brand said last month.

The Tai 7 is equipped with BYD's God's Eye smart driving system and will offer versions with and without LiDAR.

The all-wheel-drive long-range version is equipped with a 35.6-kWh battery pack, offering a CLTC battery range of up to 180 kilometers.

The model also offers a two-wheel-drive standard-range version with a 26.6-kWh battery pack, providing a CLTC battery range of 135 kilometers.

When fully fueled and charged, the Tai 7 achieves a combined range exceeding 1,300 kilometers.

On August 12, BYD unveiled an in-house developed tablet, which will first be used in the Tai 7.

On August 16, 2023, BYD officially launched the Fang Cheng Bao brand, which currently offers the Bao 5 and Bao 8 hybrid off-road SUVs from the Bao series, as well as the Tai 3 compact family SUV from the Tai series.

On December 10, 2024, Fang Cheng Bao unveiled its new Tai series product line, becoming its second major product line following the Bao series.
