The draft GENIUS bill proposes to ban non-financial technology companies from issuing stablecoins and strengthen the isolation of banks and businesses
According to online reports, according to page 2 of the draft GENIUS bill disclosed by Eleanor Terrett, it is proposed to prohibit stablecoin issuers from misleading claims that they are insured by the FDIC or using terms related to the U.S. government; prohibit non-financial technology companies such as Meta and Google from issuing stablecoins, strengthen the isolation of banks and businesses; the draft also strengthens the ability to enforce violations and expands the scope of ethical supervision of special government employees (including Elon Musk).
