Internet reports that on July 3 local time, U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessant said that there are many outstanding candidates for the chairman of the Federal Reserve and that the work will begin in the fall. Earlier, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal on June 25, US President Trump was considering early nomination of the next chairman of the Federal Reserve to weaken the influence of current chairman Powell. In addition, people familiar with the matter revealed that Treasury Secretary Bessant was recommended as a potential candidate; other contenders include former World Bank President Malpass and Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller.
