Nio's battery swap network hits record single-day service volume during 'golden week' travel peak

During the recently concluded Chinese National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday period, Nio (NYSE: NIO) witnessed another surge in battery swap services as travel demand peaked.

On October 1 -- the first day of the eight-day holiday -- Nio's single-day battery swap service reached 145,955, setting a new record, according to a Nio Power service report released today.

The single-day figure surpassed the previous record of 136,720 set during the Chinese New Year holiday eight months ago.

Nio currently operates 3,520 battery swap stations across China, including 1,002 along highways.

From October 1 to 8, these stations provided 1,097,985 services, with the daily average service volume increasing by 37 percent year-on-year.

During the holiday period, battery swap services exceeded 130,000 on seven days, according to the company.

On October 7, the peak day for return travel, single-day battery swap services reached 143,120.

During the holiday, 207,149 users completed their entire journey solely by recharging at Nio's battery swap stations.

As of the end of September, Nio Inc had accumulated deliveries of 872,785 vehicles, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

During the holiday, the busiest battery swap stations were those located on the G15 Shanghai-Shenyang highway, where 59 stations handled up to 3,071 daily service requests.

The second-busiest was the G3 Beijing-Taipei highway, where 46 battery swap stations handled up to 2,181 daily service visits.

The Xianrenshan service area station along the G42 highway recorded a single-day service of up to 180, making it the busiest during the holiday. It was followed by the Huzhou service area station on the G50 Shanghai-Chongqing highway, which handled up to 175 daily service visits.

During the holiday, Nio's 27,258 chargers across China provided 826,527 charging services, with 85 percent of the energy used to serve non-Nio users.

Over the holiday period, Nio delivered more than 21,404 flexible battery upgrade services, with 5,569 Nio users sharing their long-range batteries.
