South Africa's NFT trading platform Momint is closed due to market pressure "
Internet reports that South Africa's NFT trading platform Momint recently announced that it would stop operations, mainly due to rising operating costs, weak user growth and a severe financing environment. The platform was established in 2021. It attracted attention due to a number of high-value NFT sales and received US$2.1 million in seed round financing in the early days of its establishment. As of mid-2024, the platform has processed more than 400,000 transactions, attracting 53,000 users, and contributing to nearly US$2 million in transaction volume. However, due to insufficient liquidity, regulatory pressure and user size bottlenecks, it was finally decided to close.
