Leapmotor delivers record 66,657 cars in Sept, doubling year-on-year

Leapmotor (HKG: 9863) achieved another robust monthly delivery figure as momentum continues for its competitive product lineup.
The Stellantis NV (NYSE: STLA)-backed Chinese new energy-vehicle (NEV) maker delivered 66,657 vehicles in September, marking its fifth consecutive record-breaking month, according to data released today.
This represents a 97.40 percent increase from 33,767 units delivered in the same period last year and a 16.81 percent rise from August's 57,066 units.
In the third quarter, Leapmotor delivered a record 173,852 vehicles, up 101.77 percent year-on-year and a 29.63 percent rise from the second quarter.
Year-to-date, the company has delivered 395,516 vehicles, a 128.81 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
As of the end of September, Leapmotor's cumulative deliveries since inception reached 995,064 units, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
The company achieved the milestone of producing its one-millionth vehicle on September 25, with the one-millionth delivery expected within days.
Leapmotor, one of China's earliest NEV startups, has seen robust growth over the past two years despite intense competition.
Its current lineup in China includes the T03, B10, B01, C01, C10, C11, and C16. The T03, B01, and B10 are available only as battery electric vehicles (BEVs), while the other models also offer extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants.
In March, Leapmotor founder and chairman Zhu Jiangming said the company would achieve sales of 500,000 to 600,000 units this year.
By August, Leapmotor raised its full-year 2025 sales target to 580,000 to 650,000 units, aiming to challenge the one million mark next year based on its stronger-than-expected performance this year.
On September 19, Leapmotor announced its new flagship D19 SUV (sport utility vehicle) will make its global debut on October 16.
The D19, the first model in the company's D series, will target a price point of RMB 300,000 ($42,140).
