The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) launched its Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) retail sandbox project on Wednesday, allowing financial technology companies to develop and test solutions in existing pilot programs, the Internet reported. The news was announced by Suvendu Pati, chief general manager of the Reserve Bank of India. The Bank of India's first retail version of the digital rupee (e-rupee) pilot project will be launched on December 1, 2022.
