US FBI captures dark web hacker "IntelBroker" through $250 BTC trap operation
Internet reports that British man Kai West was accused of using the pseudonym "IntelBroker" to conduct activities on cybercrime forums and was charged on suspicion of selling stolen data. The case has caused more than $25 million in losses. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York announced that Kai West has been prosecuted. According to information disclosed in the indictment, an undercover law enforcement officer sent a private message to "IntelBroker", wanting to purchase a victim's data for US$250 worth of Bitcoin (BTC). The other party provided an address attributed to West, and after the payment was completed, the other party delivered data, which allegedly included three administrator-level usernames and passwords. He was subsequently arrested in France in February this year, and the United States is currently seeking his extradition.
