If Powell continues his cautious tone, the dollar may strengthen further

According to online reports, Dutch International Bank analyst Francesco Pesole said that if Federal Reserve Chairman Powell continues to maintain a cautious stance on interest rate cuts in his later speech, the dollar may strengthen further. Pesole pointed out that Powell may maintain his previous cautious tone due to the delay in the release of official employment data due to the U.S. government shutdown. During the data window period, this impact may still ferment in the market, and the US dollar faces certain upside risks. However, he added that once the data is released, if it shows a deterioration in employment conditions, the dollar may turn weaker and hit a periodic low at the end of the year.
