US media: Musk DOGE team installs star link at the White House despite government opposition
According to Internet reports, according to the Washington Post, Musk's DOGE team installed the Star Link satellite Internet system at the White House in February this year despite opposition from government security experts. White House communications experts expressed concerns about installing the system, citing national security reasons. The installation of Starlink also sparked conflicts between DOGE employees and the Secret Service. DOGE staff installed a star link terminal on the roof of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building without notifying the White House communications team, allowing the White House to access the Internet via star link without standard tracking or certification safeguards, which could lead to data leaks or hacking. It's unclear whether Starlink terminals were installed in the White House after Musk quit and publicly broke with Trump, but other government agencies have reportedly used Starlink as well. However, a Secret Service spokesman said: "We understand DOGE intends to improve Internet access on campus and do not consider this a security incident or security breach."
