HSBC: Gold may exceed US$4000 in the short term "

Online report, HSBC: Due to geopolitical risks, fiscal uncertainty and threats to the independence of the Federal Reserve, gold may exceed the US$4000/ounce mark in the short term. Boosted by official sector purchases, the rise in gold prices is expected to continue into 2026, and institutional demand for gold as a diversified investment tool may remain strong. However, with the end of the Fed's interest-rate cut cycle, sluggish physical demand and increased supply, the gold price rise may slow down in the second half of 2026. (Jin Shi)
