Geely Auto (HKG: 0175) has launched the 2026 Xingyuan, updating one of its best-selling models to target higher sales.
The compact electric vehicle (EV) was rolled out at an event today with a limited-time offer starting at RMB 65,800 ($9,240), positioning it as one of China's most affordable models.
The Xingyuan was initially launched on October 9, 2024, with a starting price of RMB 69,800, primarily competing against BYD's (HKG: 1211) Seagull and Dolphin models.
The Xingyuan's pricing aligns with BYD's Seagull, while its size and range are comparable to BYD's higher-priced Dolphin.
This strategy has propelled the Xingyuan to become one of China's best-selling models, with over 400,000 units sold in the past year, according to data released by Geely today.
The 2026 Xingyuan offers six variants with starting guide prices from RMB 68,800 to RMB 98,800.
Geely offers a RMB 3,000 trade-in subsidy for customers ordering before October 31, effectively lowering the starting price range to RMB 65,800 to RMB 95,800.
The 2026 Xingyuan measures 4,135 mm long, 1,805 mm wide, and 1,570 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm.
The model features a rear-mounted single motor delivering 58 kW (78 horsepower) or 85 kWh of power.
It comes standard with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries from CATL (HKG: 3750), available in 30.12 kWh or 40.16 kWh capacities, offering ranges of 310 km or 410 km.
The vehicle supports a peak charging power of 1.66C, enabling a charge from 30 percent to 80 percent in 21 minutes.
Xingyuan is part of Geely's sub-brand Geely Galaxy, which has seen robust sales growth over the past year, driving Geely's overall strong performance.
Geely Auto recorded a record September sales volume of 273,125 units, marking a 35.24 percent year-on-year increase and a 9.18 percent rise from August, according to data released earlier this month.
Geely Galaxy achieved record September sales of 120,868 units, surging 131.06 percent year-on-year and growing 9.22 percent month-on-month.
